Tilt-Shift Miniture Faking

By distorting real life images in photoshop the artist can simulate the effects of tilt-shift photography. The photo's are taken from a high angle and then the focus is distorted to replicate the shallow depth of field normally encountered with macro lenses. Colours are then enhanced in response to the brightly coloured paint used in miniature model painting and the contrast raised to produce the harder, darker shadows that miniatures create. Click this link to be taken to another 50 examples of this type of photography. A very surreal experience!
