Created by Euro RSCG this advert for Evian is very cool and cute, but you can see clearly it's used CGI. The idea itself is genius and can capture the audience very well.

Old maps found outside Storyboards

A huge but detailed map of London has been found on one of the exterior walls of the Storyboards offices. The map coveres an area roughly the size of a table tennis table and includes a large amount of detail right up to the numbering and shape of buildings. It is unknown when or for what purpose the map was drawn up or even how the ink was put onto the wall. If you have any thoughts or about the map or information that can enlighten the storyboards team on exactly what it could have been used for please email George (george@storyboards.co.uk ) as we would love to find a bit more about it!

The new iphone 3g S

The iPhone 3G S, announced at WWDC on June 8, 2009, is a faster iPhone featuring a 3.0 megapixel camera with autofocus, video recording capabilities with editing, and increased (3X) processing speed.

The 3G S is available in 16GB and 32GB.

1930's take on fashion for 2000

I don't think they realised how drastically things were going to change for the future, but the ideas they did come up with were probably outrageous for them and would certainly be crazy for 2009. Who knows maybe a designer will watch this video and really like their ideas, I might like a suit with a telephone in the middle though.

Brian Dettmer - Book Autopsies

Artist Brian Dettmer seals, then cuts into older dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks, science and engineering books etc, exposing select images and text to create intricate three-dimensional derivative works that reveal new or alternative interpretations of the books. The final result is a fascinating three dimensional glimpse into, not only the book it's carved out but also the whole process of print. More of his work can be found on his blog here.

Time-Lapse Satellite Images

Now that satellite imagery has been around in the public domain for a while it is possible to create time-lapse videos to reveal the shocking truth about how we effect the earth as humans. Wired magazine has posted several of these time-lapse satellite images on there web site including a rather disturbing deforestation of Rondônia (a state of Brazil) which really puts into perspective the reasons for recycling.

Simpsons Manga

These bizarre versions of the famous family are loving rendered by Nina Matsumoto also known as "Spacecoyote" whose work has achieved some of the highest hits on the popular digital arts forum devientART. Her work has now been recognised by Matt Groening himself and she does pencil work for a short manga style version of the Simpsons as well as numerous manga comics winning "Best New OEL Manga" for Yokaiden, winner of the "Outstanding Science Fiction Comic" in 2004, nominated "Best Short Story" at the Eisner Award of this year for Murder He Wrote, plus she's still working on her personal projects and she's only 24! Welcome to the art of Digimods, a small community for that unique group of photoshop geek/boy racer types where all vehicles no matter how big or small are subject to a graphical modifications ranging from the sleek to the absurd. On the site (see here) you will even find tutorials and guide on how to make your ride worthy of car of the month. On a basic level the process is relatively simple, after selecting an appropriate car the artist must google like mad to find the right photos of mods and accessories (of course all must be at the correct angle) and then bledding them onto your car using the array of tools PS has to offer. This Amazing hand art was constructed by Guiddo Danielle, an Italian artist who specialises in different painting techniques.
